Soli Deo Gloria

Reminded over and over again this past year that God alone deserves all the glory, praise, and adoration. It was never about me, is never about me, and will never be about me. I am not in a position to boast about anything, but to represent Christ. He must increase, and I must decrease.

1 Corinthians 1:27-31, “But God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong; God chose what is low and despised in the world, even things that are not, to bring to nothing things that are, so that no human being might boast in the presence of God. And because of him you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, righteousness and sanctification and redemption, so that as it is written, “Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.”

It’s interesting that God accomplishes receiving all the glory by choosing people who the world would not consider or choose. He chose to crown a shepherd boy (David) amidst more intelligent, stronger, and capable men because a man after God’s own heart would accomplish far more for the kingdom of God than one who was after his own desires. There’s many other people I could mention. Maybe God’s glory shines brightest in those who don’t have it all together. He is not after the perfect, but the pure in heart.
